Use “Space Control”:
The “space” left = Cover Diameter + 2x Cover Width – Tire Diameter-2x Tire Width.
For example,your tire is295/45R18,the diameter of your tire is 72.27cm,Width of your tire is 29.5cm.
If you choose 17 inch cover for 295/45R18 .The “space” left =83+24*2-72.27-29.5*2=-0.27cm.This means 17 inch cover would be 0.135cm short .It would be tightly fit;
If you choose 18 inch cover for 295/45R18.The “Space”left = 89+30*2-72.27-29.5*2=17.73cm.This means 18 inch cover would be loose fit with 8.8cm Covered the other side of the tyre
