(2) Apply the folded hem tape and cut off enough Hemming Tape For Trousers to wrap the trouser leg around, so that it is completely covered by the fabric, otherwise it will stick to the iron. (3) Wet the tea towel and soak the whole thing under a cold water tap. Twist out the water with force. (4) Place the tea towel over the alterations and iron, fold the tea towel in half and place it on the end of the trouser leg. Turn the iron from heated to hot, low to no steam setting and press firmly on this for 10 seconds. (Be careful with synthetics as they melt easily, if you are worried about damaging the fabric try 5 seconds, making sure the towel is completely wet.)
