Whether you are power fishing them with a swim bait, jerk-baiting them with a shad, or finessing them, there is a Tungsten Round Jig Head just right for the job.
Because tungsten is a very hard material, it is extremely sensitive and can actually help you “feel” what the bottom is made of and what your bait is bumping into, such as rocks, brush, mud, etc and hang-ups will occur far less with a tungsten jig head or sinker than with a similar lead product because of its smaller size.
Weights should be selected according to the depth of water, wind, current and the size and shape of the soft plastic. As a general guide, 1/8 to 1/6oz jig-heads are ideal for prospecting shallow ground. Moving into say 10 to 20m of water, 1/4 to 3/8oz weighted jig-heads should get a plastic down deep enough in most conditions. As far as hook sizes are concerned, there are some larger hook size options for the 1/16oz weight than usually available. Using hook sizes in the 1/0 to 3/0 sizes is usually about right, depending on the pattern and the size of the soft plastic.
