CHOOSE THE RIGHT RUG SIZE
LIVING ROOM
For larger rooms, select a size that allows for all furniture to rest entirely on the rug. For smaller rooms, use a rug size that allows all furniture to be positioned off the rug or with only the front legs on the rug.
BEDROOM
For a coordinated look, you’ll want a large rug that frames your bed and night stands. Consider the size of your bed(s) and aim for 18 inches of rug to step onto on both sides of any bed. An alternative layout is to “sandwich” the bed with runners on either side.
DINING ROOM
Consider the size of the room and your dining room table, including the number of chairs. Rugs should be laid to expose at least 18 inches of exposed floor around the perimeter of the room. Leave 18 to 24 inches of rug around the table to allow for chairs to get pushed back.
RUG CARE AND CLEANING TIPS
VACUUM REGULARLY
Use a quality vacuum without the beater bar setting as it can pull or snag. Vacuum high traffic areas more often. Rug shedding is common with some newer rugs but this will lessen over time with regular vacuuming.
SPOT CLEAN AS NEEDED
Clean spills immediately by blotting with a clean, dry white cloth. For hard to remove stains we recommend that the rug be professionally cleaned.
USE A RUG PAD
A non-slip rug pad’s primary benefits are safety and cushioning. However, it also prolongs the life of your rug and makes it easier to vacuum.
TAME THE SHAG
A great tip for cleaning a shag rug is to turn it upside down and vacuum the back with the beater bar setting. This will shake loose all the dirt and dust. Once done, move the rug and vacuum up all the dirt that came loose onto the floor.

Speaks volumes when you put this out in summer. I used this for my space three years ago and the color is still there. It is slip resistant and comfortable for bare feet. It cleans easy with hose or rain. The thickness is flat and it is durable.
